Chinese Medicine
Acupuncture
The insertion of pre-packaged, sterilized, stainless steel acupuncture needles
into specific points on the body. Used to adjust circulatory flow in the meridians (organized
channels) of the body and promote internal balance. Contrary to popular belief, this procedure
is not painful.
Moxibustion
The burning of the herb moxa. This procedure is performed close to the surface
of the skin or on the ends of needles. Moxibustion is used to internalize heat in the body which
helps to increase circulation and vital energy, relieve pain, and strengthen muscles and organ
systems; a very relaxing procedure.
Gua Sha
The manual stimulation of acupuncture points and meridians. All the
benefits of acupuncture without the needles!
Gua Sha Therapy – a type of deep tissue stimulation using a smooth-edged tool on lubricated
skin. This procedure is used for long-term relief of tense muscles.
Cupping Therapy
The use of suction cups on congested areas of the body. This procedure
is used to relieve tension and move stagnation out of the meridians. It works wonders on tight
muscles!
